FAQ
1. What sizes of residential garage door are possible?
Single or double doors. Small doors for sheds. 18x14, 10x10, 9x9, 8x7, 6x7, 5x7 or anything smaller or bigger than these sizes. There are no standard garage door dimensions. Just like when you’re shopping for windows. Garage doors are entirely personalizable without impacting costs.
2. Are there small garage doors for sheds?
Yes! Each of our doors is custom-made to fit the dimensions you need without affecting its cost, just like when you shop for windows. So 4x5, 5x6, 5x7, or anything in between. Order what really fits.
3. What is the minimum headroom for a garage door opener? Is it different for wall-mounted door opener?
The headroom over your garage door can be as low as 5 inches up to 10 inches. In this case, we will install a low headroom hardware lift. If you want a wall-mounted garage door opener (also called side mounted door opener, the headroom over your garage door needs to be at least 8 inches.
4. When is it best to buy an insulated garage door?
For an attached garage, when you want to save on your power bills, and be more comfortable in your garage/home, we recommend R-16 value, polyurethane-insulated garage doors.
5. Can I keep the same door opener if I replace the garage door?
Yes, you can, unless your opener was made before 1993. Then we recommend you change it, so your opener has the 2 reversal systems to increase your safety.
